Initially, this was the vision of the two founding members Pat Mills and Geoff Fitchet, who established the office in 1983, and now the existing members still remain focused on property and land valuations, specialising in Agricultural Valuations.

We have developed unique valuation systems incorporating the latest information technology including Bio Resource and Geographic Information Systems.

Our client base includes all the major financial institutions, forestry companies, agricultural organisations, various government departments and municipalities.

We also offer project management and consultancy services in the fields of property development and construction through a project management section that has managed various development schemes in both Gauteng and KZN.

This office is at the forefront of the implementation of the new Municipal Property Rates Act with the compilation of General Valuation Rolls for a number of municipalities.

The company utilises a Robinson 22 helicopter, which is valuable for aerial surveys covering large areas and together with various 4 wheel drive vehicles, we are able to access the most difficult and remote areas in southern Africa.

The branch has a growing number of permanent staff members who are well qualified with a wide range of complimentary skills and qualifications ranging from agricultural management, forestry, property development and project management, to law.

Summary of Key Experience and Responsibilities
With more than 20 years experience in property valuation Alan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.

He specialises in the valuation of agricultural, commercial and industrial properties and together with his legal and agricultural management qualifications and experience, Alan has become recognised as one of the leading valuers in the field of agriculture throughout Southern Africa.

He has appeared as an expert witness in various court cases brought before the Supreme Court and before the Heath Special Investigation Commission.

Alan currently acts as an assessor to the Land Claims Court and assessor in the Khumalo case, where internationally recognised principles of valuations were introduced through the Point Gourde Principle.

Major assignments have included valuations for large corporations, banks, Governmental Departments and private individuals. These assignments have included the valuation of properties for incorporation into various Game Reserves, dam and pipeline servitudes for Mossgas, Eskom powerline servitudes and the valuation of properties for large scale development purposes.

In addition he has worked on the valuation of poultry, sugar cane, flower, timber and other specialized agricultural properties, the valuation and negotiation of settlements of properties under land claims. A wide variety of properties were valued for Capital Gains Tax purposes.

Alan has also been appointed by various municipalities as Municipal Valuer for rating purposes in terms of the Municipal Property Rates Act.

Professional Valuer; Alan was elevated by his peers to a Fellow of the South African Institute of Valuers in recognition of his achievements in valuation.

Summary of Key Experience and Responsibilities
Stephen has 18 years experience, covering a variety of disciplines including:
  • Project Manager; responsible for coordinating town planning, township establishment, construction, sales, marketing, conveyancing and implementation of the management systems for various property development schemes including; Affordable Housing projects, Sectional Title Schemes, Cluster Housing, Office Parks, Office Buildings and Up-market residential Security Estates.
  • Operations Manager; in charge of the project management department with full management responsibilities.
  • Development Manager; responsible for identification of new projects, formulation of project budgets, cash flows and feasibility studies.
  • Management Consultant; worked on a number of commissions in various fields including; Business Cases, Business Processes, Facilities Management, Property Development and Public Private Partnerships.
  • Property Valuation; Stephen is currently a project manager and professional associated valuer with experience in various valuation fields including; Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Property development schemes, Agricultural, Land claims, Expropriations and Municipal valuation rolls.

Summary of Key Experience and Responsibilities
Scott has worked in the property industry for the past twelve years, starting as a real estate agent and then specialising in property valuation.

His early experience included residential property sales, leasing, valuations and administration of approximately 50 residential properties as well as blocks of flats and townhouse developments. Scott completed his National Diploma Real Estate (Property Valuation) with five years experience in various valuation fields including:
